I first found capoeira in Utah at the age of 14 when I heard the drumming and music emerging from a local martial arts studio. They invited me in to see the end of class Roda and I never forgot the palpable energy I felt.
My journey took me into teaching various fitness and yoga styles from bootcamp to barre to Zumba and officially began my own capoeira and contortion training in 2017, 7 years into my teaching career and 2 kids later. Being a hyper mobile person who also healed from pregnancy, I began to implement methods of training that prioritized efficiency and sustainability and opens doors to people of all body types and abilities.
I believe that making movement a lasting practice, it must make sense for our lives and whatever season we’re in. Your body, your choice AND I will always be there to remind you to reach into the edges of possibility. Every body is capable of finding belonging, connection, and confidence through movement.
